Dr. Alpha Kanu  Dr. Alpha Kanu is the minister of Political and Presidential Affairs of the present A.P.C government in Sierra Leone. He volunteered to be the key note speaker during the opening ceremony CanSerra Primary School. He offered his thanks and appreciation to all donors that contributed toward the school building project in Sierra Leone. He also requested for more support to donors around the world to help make education accessible to all children in Sierra Leone by 2015. His action illustrated the level of  government’s commitment of on education in the country.

Children Braiding Each Other  Braiding one another is a cultural symbol in Sierra Leone. These girls are all students that have at one time lost hope for a better education. Hearing about this great project in Kissi Town, they came to help fetch water from a far stream for the school building construction. After a day’s work, they relaxed under the shade braiding one another.

CanSerra Primary School  The CanSerra Primary School building was constructed in Kissi Town within 30 days. Kissi Town was a former refugee and displaced camp. The high speed of this building construction was due to the high rate of educational needs we saw. The next project is the construction of the high school.

2011 Goals

A pump water well construction to provide safe and clean drinking water
Construction of solar panels at the school to provide electricity for better learning  

Approval of the school by the Sierra Leone government

2012 to 2015 Goals

Construction of the CanSerra Community High School
Construction of science lab, computer lab, and library
Scholarship program for high school graduating students
